RETINOL
Retinol, also known as vitamin A, is a biologically active compound belonging to the retinoid family. Although it is present in various foods, the biologically active form of vitamin A, retinol, cannot be obtained through diet. Animal products contain retinyl palmitate, a storage molecule, while plant-based products contain vitamin A precursors known as carotenoids.
